auto mobile insurance?

i am from louisianna a man did nit stop at a stop sign and totaled my vehicle the guy is from texas and hit me in my state they told me that texas law says they must get in touch with the guy who hit me or they cant give me my money they also told me that i have to take my vehicle out of the junk yard or i will have to pay for the storage we both have liability only

Regarding the at fault driver’s insurance company paying for your damage: they do have to speak with him or someone in his household who can confirm that the accident happened and what happened.

Think About it- do you want people to be able to call your insurance company – report claims against your policy – your policy pay them and your insurance company never spoke to you just to say “hey did this accident happen? What happened?” I’d be beyond mad if my insurance company paid under my policy and never spoke to me first. What if I did not think the accident was my fault?

So – yes the other company does have to try and confirm with their policy holder what happened.

Regarding the Tow Yard: the tow yard is charging storage for every day your car to sits in their yard. In my area, storage runs about 25 per day.

You have a legal duty to mitigate your damage – that means to not make them worse, The insurance company is putting on notice that you need to move the car from the tow yard because they are not going to pay for the car to sit in storage further.

If you have collision coverage – call your company and report the claim to them. They can pay the tow/storage charges and move the car.

If you do not have collision coverage – you will need to get with the tow yard and see about paying them for the tow and storage and moving the car. If the car is repairable – have it moved to the shop you want to do the repairs. Or you could see about moving the car to your home (where no storage charges will accrue).

As a catalyst in the ongoing campaign of the safe driving of Plymouth, itâ € ™ s been King Collision Centers € ™ intention to teach safe driving habits of young drivers at Plymouth. Without realizing it, the center Plymouth-based collision has made history as perhaps the collision center to start a campaign for safe driving.

â € œObviously, you never want to hurt anyone. Furthermore, we make a living repairing cars. So itâ € ™ s more a little unusual for a collision center to be a central figure in a safe driving campaign, â € said Bruce King, owner of King Center collision. â € œFrankly, in all my years in this business, I donâ t ™ € ™ € I think I'ma have heard of other school collision do something like this.

The Safe Driving Program Plymouth is a multifaceted approach to promote driving habits safe for Plymouth North and Plymouth South high schools. Working with Public Schools Plymouth, the Plymouth Police Department of Commerce and Insurance, King created a Web site, www.plymouthsafedriving.org, providing a safe driving contract and a safe driving for young drivers and their parents. The contract acts as young DRivera € ™ s commitment to drive responsibly.

Plymouth high school students who turn in a signed contract with their principals, either North or South Plymouth school Secondary entered into a drawing for CONTROLA € ™ s In Crash Prevention Training Course (a $ 350 value). In addition to the winner, everyone who signs a contract and submits it to their principal is eligible to take control of Crash course in preventing a discount of 10 percent.

â € œThe In training control has a phenomenal record, the reduction of accidents involving new drivers by 70 percent, â € said David Antocci, VP Trade in insurance claims. â € œIf thata € ™ s not enough incentive, insurance companies offer a discount on your policy car for young drivers and adults who complete control training.â €

As a reminder for young drivers to drive secure, safe driving campaign Plymouth has and will continue in two wrecked cars in high traffic locations in the city. More recently, two vehicles were in the north of Plymouth, Plymouth South Thanksgiving Day football game. In addition, volunteers attended a booth and distributed safe driving tips and student driver contracts parents.

Over the winter months, students at Plymouth South High School € ™ s Technical Studies Program will repair one of the wrecked cars and then sell it.
