Why have so many NFL teams had great players, but failed to replace them?
An article posted on Yahoo Sports was talking about teams that are recognized for having great QB’s such as the New York Jets with Namath and Broncos with Elway. Ever since these players have left, the teams have been trying to fill a void and find there next big guy.
The 49ers haven’t had anyone decent since Joe Montana and Steve Young, the Jets have been searching for decades now ever since Namath left and the Dolphins only ever really had Marino. There’s only been a few teams that have managed to replace there stars such as the Packers replacing Starr with Favre (even though there were men in between) and the Cowboys having an endless list with Staubach, Meredith, Aikman etc. Thoughts and opinions on this?

I guess what I’m trying to ask is, is there a reason for this? Or is there just not as much talent nowadays?
I think it has more to do with ownership and management than players.
Some team, however have been good throughout, such as the Colts (with Unitis and Manning), and the Giant(with Warner, Simms, and Mannining) and obviously the Steelers.

Who: Baseball Legend American
Why: No, he was not Babe? Not exactly a top hat and white bow tie, but I had class you had? inside. One patient asked a boy homer Babe, noting that the ball was going. He went there. Also occupied the house of a single season record of execution 39 years? do it with fewer games and nonsteroidal shakes? and his curse? of the Bambino? was powerful enough to hunt down the Red Sox 86, because Fenway crew dared to trade him to the Yankees. Not only that, he could take over a plate of hot dogs and a keg of beer as anyone? s business? to the point where he was sent to hospital with the world? s Most Famous Bellyache before a game!
Fun fact: The Japanese troops during the Second World War would be an insult to U.S. troops by shouting? To hell with Babe Ruth!?
Joe Namath
Who:? Broadway Joe? the first real media and football star and one of the best players who have walked the planet.
Why: Because when he was the quarterback of the New York Jets, guaranteed a fan loud exclamations that would win Super Bowl III, but no one gave his team a chance in hell? and the Jets came to achieve one of the most striking disorders in sports history. Because the front was allowed to movies and TV shows when it was clear for anyone who was not? t deaf, dumb and blind that acting was not in Joe Willie? s wheelhouse. And above all, because I had a woman? S pantyhose in a commercial – And was man enough to get away with it!
Fun fact: Made President Nixon? S famous list of enemies? although he had voted for Nixon Namath twice.
MICHAEL JORDAN
Who: The best basketball player Ever. Ever. He says in his official biography of the NBA.
Why Why: Because? S the best basketball player. Ever. Because he had a sense of style so beloved of us, a barber club, would give this award to a man who shaves his head. Because playing b-ball with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck and put your name on a pair of Nike shoes made them the longest of popular sneakers history. Ever. Because he was so damn good we can forgive for the Wizards and in fact the disruption of an incredible race to try to play? Baseball.
Fun Fact: During his brief career minor league baseball, Jordan batted .202 and committed 11 errors.
