What would people like to see in UK football this year?
Here’s a list of mine (you can guess who I support)
1. Hull City to stay up
2. Rangers to win the SPL
3. Sir Alex Ferguson to manage Scotland (good for scotland and bad for Man U, win win situation!)
4. England to win the World Cup (I’m Scottish but i’m not a traitor, the teams I support seem to loose
5. Ian Ashbee to make a full recovery
6. Thomson and Brown to sign for Hull City (not going to happen, but it would definately boost our midfield)
ok, here’s an extension
Newcastle, West Brom and Middlesborough not to get promotion
Leeds not to be promoted
im gonna take a shot in the dark and say you support………. sunderland?
too bad you lost michael turner to them………..
my list-
1- chelsea winning the league
2- chelsea winning the league
3- portsmouth and burnley not being relegated
4- italy to win the world cup again
5- chelsea winning the league
can you guess who i support?

The beginnings of American Football dates back to the game of English rugby, which started in the Boy Rugby School in England some time in 1823. It also can be traced back to football, which is also an English game that was played as early as the 1820s. The football rules were instituted by Walter Camp, a coach and athletic director at Yale University, but were a collaborative effort from various U.S. universities. In a sense, Pro Football was developed from competitions between schools, which at that time, there were very strong team rivalries when it comes to sports. The rivalry took a hearing soon and its immense national popularity led to the creation of an association of professional football.
The first professional football league
The first football association was formed in 1920 and was named the Football Association (APFA). The APFA delivered franchises across the UK States with little discretion and respect for the skills of the players and teams. During its operation from 1920 to 1922, consisted of 23 teams. Two years later he settled The APFA was reorganized and renamed the National Football League (NFL). Unlike the APFA, the NFL was limited to just ten teams.
The Football League American is competing with the NFL
In 1960, the American Football League (AFL) was founded and operates in direct competition with the NFL. Because it was not the pioneer, was seen by first time as inferior to the NFL, attracting smaller teams and players. However, the mid-1960s, the AFL began to aggressively recruit the best college players and the NFL. Signed football stars and legends like Johnny Robinson, Billy Cannon and Hall of Famer Ron Mix. The AFL operated since 1960 until 1969 and later merged with the NFL in 1970.
The NFL and AFL Merger
In 1970, the merger of the NFL and AFL combined sixteen teams of ten teams in the NFL and AFL, including a league with two conferences. Through the years, the league expanded further and in 1939 became a thirty and team in the league. Some of its original equipment including Akron Pros Buffalo All-American in Decatur, Dayton Triangles, Chicago Cardinals, Canton Bulldogs, Cleveland, Tigers, Detroit Heralds, Columbus Panhandles, and Muncie Flyers. The NFL was further reorganized into eight divisions, each with four teams. Today the NFL has a bit more thirty teams, including the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers.
Other Pro Football Leagues
In addition to the NFL and AFL, a number of competitive leagues have been established, but did not reach the popularity of either the NFL or the AFL. Many of them were short duration than the All-American Football Conference (1946 to 1949) and the World Football League (1974 to 1975). There is also an indoor football league called the Arena Football. Than debuted in 1987 and played in the spring, with only eight players on each team. Although still played today, does not enjoy international or even national success, and the popularity of the NFL.
