I wanted to talk to you about hooking up a guitar strap because a lot of people don’t know how. If you happen to have a guitar that contains the hardware for the strap than you’re all set. All you have to do is pick up a strap at the store and it will snap right onto the guitar. The problem for a lot of people is that they don’t even have the hardware snaps on guitar. This means that you have a guitar that is traditionally played while sitting down. Anything that is designed to be played sitting down will contain no hardware.

Hooking up a guitar strap when you don’t have the hardware isn’t that hard. Musician Willie Nelson actually has a little trick that has served him very well. All it requires is a little hooking device. He ties one end of the strap to the head of the guitar. He takes the other end and attaches the hook to it. He then hooks the strap to the sound hole. That is all he does to hook up a guitar strap and it is probably about the easiest thing that you can do.

The other alternative you can do is actually adding the hardware. Most people avoid this because you actually have to drill into the guitar, which could cause damage. You need to drill a hole into the head, which is easy enough. Drilling a hole on the bottom is the hard part. You have to make sure you drill into a solid piece of wood, so that the sound won’t be affected. After that’s done, you just screw in the hardware.
